Publishing Arm — Plan

The publishing arm is active, not aspirational: three children’s books are already published on Amazon, four more have complete text and are awaiting illustration, and the actual manuscripts and production pipeline live in a dedicated private repository, vijaybpanangi/ezzi-bookshelf — the source of truth for that IP. This document is this repository’s summary and strategic context for that work, not a duplicate of it. Current Status

All three published titles are KDP Select enrolled and entered for the 2026 Kindle Storyteller Award. Every manuscript passes an originality/plagiarism clearance gate — a paid scanner, distinctive-phrase web searches, and title/character/premise clearance — twice: once on the locked manuscript, once on the final assembled text. Why This Exists

Ezzi Clarity grew from one pillar — student consulting — into two: advising and writing. The priorities, in order, are building a real, growing body of published work under Arva’s name; using the process as a working AI-assisted production sandbox; and revenue, which is welcome but not the driver. The long-term vision is a series about children from immigrant families finding their footing in a new country while holding onto the one they left — the current seven titles are deliberately standalone prototypes for that pipeline, not yet that flagship series itself.

Imprint vs. Legal Publisher

The books carry the Ezzi Clarity name as their imprint — consistent branding with the consulting business, authored by Arva Ezzi. But imprint and legal publisher of record are two different things, and for a practical reason: the corporation doesn’t yet have its own bank account (business banking is still under evaluation — see registers/decision-pipeline.md DP-0001). Until that’s resolved, the KDP account, its tax reporting (W-8BEN), and the payments it generates run through Arva personally, and the copyright line reads “© 2026 Arva Ezzi.”

This is provisional, not a permanent separation on principle — once the corporation has its own banking in place, publishing revenue could move to run through Ezzi Clarity Educational Consulting Services Inc. instead. Until then, the corporation’s financial statements and the publishing arm’s revenue are two separate things: company/strategy/business-plan.md’s financial plan should not be read as including book royalties, and registers/corporate-records-register.md does not (and should not) catalogue ezzi-bookshelf’s content as a corporate record.

Roles

Claude does the writing and production specs (manuscript, art direction, storyboard, per-spread prompts, KDP metadata). Vijay runs the image-generation tooling and the KDP publishing account. Arva makes the editorial calls — concept, manuscript approval, and final art sign-off.

Relationship to the Consulting Arm

The connection to the consulting arm remains thematic, not a sales funnel — a family might encounter a picture book when their child is young and a consulting cohort a decade later when that same child is university-bound, but no mechanism forces one into the other. The plain-language student guides mentioned in company/strategy/business-plan.md §5.4 (which become the cohort workbook) are a separate publishing effort from the picture books documented here, and remain in earlier development.
